The Motion Zeus Compound bow has a draw weight of 0 – 70 LBS. This means that literally everybody can shoot this bow. You won’t have any issues to draw the string back completely. All you need to do is set the right draw weight and you are ready to go.
Having the option to use such a low draw weight is perfect for beginners. When starting with archery, you must learn the right archery techniques first!
If you start with a bow that is too strong for you, you can “imprint” wrong techniques which are very hard to get rid of again. You could also hurt yourself, especially your back, when you try to draw a bow that is too heavy for you.
So, whether you are a young beginner or a seasoned archery veteran, this bow will fit your needs!
What also stands out is that the cams are made of a magnesium alloy! Some compound bows use plastic cams that can break rather easily. You won’t have this issue thanks to the magnesium alloy.
The limbs are also super strong and durable. They are made in the USA.

Compound bows are modern bows that use cams to reduce the draw weight you need to pull back while drawing the bow and holding the bow in full draw.
They work like pulleys in a way.
Thanks to their modern and efficient design, they can be equipped with many extras that make the archer’s life easier.
Those attachments range from sights, over scopes, to stabilizers and arrow rests.
Many bow hunters prefer compound bows because they are shorter than traditional bows. That makes them more maneuverable and often lighter than other bows. The latter depends on how much equipment you attach to them.
Draw weight in archery means how much weight you have to pull back and hold when drawing your bow. So with this bow, you would have to draw back between 0 and 70 lb (in archery we usually write “LBS”).
For many archers, 70 LBS is very difficult to draw. For beginners, it is usually impossible without hurting yourself.
However, that’s where the let-off comes in. The let-off reduces the weight you have to pull and hold significantly.
Remember the cams I mentioned above? Those cams work like pulleys and once you start drawing the bow, they kick in. The further you pull the string back, the easier it gets. When you do this for the first time, it almost feels like magic!
This bow has a let-off of 75%. This means that in full draw, you only need to hold 75% of the adjusted draw weight.
When you set it to 70 LBS, you only have to pull the full weight in the very beginning. Then, in full draw, you have to hold a mere 17.5 LBS without losing any of the power the bow provides. Once you let the arrow fly, the cams and bow do their thing and unleash the full power of a 70 LBS bow!
While not extremely important for beginners, it’s still a good idea to know what the draw length of a bow is and how to set it up for your needs.
Only when you set your bow to the correct draw weight you can use it most efficiently.
First, you’ll need to measure your draw length.
For that, you can stand with the back to a wall, spread your arms, and let someone measure the distance from one tip of your middle finger to the tip of your other middle finger (in inches!).
Minus 15 from this measurement and divide it by 2. Now you know your draw length!
Now, simply adjust your compound bow to this draw length (see the manual for that) and you can use it to its full potential.
The brace height is the distance between the string and the deepest part of the bow grip. This is yet another thing that is not that important for beginners. The shorter the brace height, the faster the arrow will fly.
However, a short brace height can make it harder to control the bow. If you are a beginner, I wouldn’t worry too much about the brace height. And if you are an advanced archery, you probably already know which brace height suits you.

What I like about compound bow packages like this is, that you can start shooting right away. You don’t need to worry about additional equipment. Just put everything together and you are good to go.
The first essential tool you get is the 3-pin-sight. Especially with compound bows, you need a sight to be able to shoot successfully.
After sighting in the sight (you need to do this only once), you have 3 pins at your disposal that will help you greatly when hunting or doing target shooting. Each pin is set to a certain distance, so you choose the best one depending on the distance to your target.
Of course, you can adjust the sight on the fly to match the distance to the target.
The bow quiver is a quiver that’s attached right to the bow. It holds up to 5 arrows and grants the quickest access to your arrows.
The arrow rest makes sure the arrow won’t fall off but won’t hinder the arrow when you let it fly. It can also be loaded quickly and easily thanks to its design.
The wrist sling enables you to easily follow through after each shot, without having to fear that the bow will fall to the ground.
A stabilizer is also included. Stabilizers make it easier to handle the bow. The bow won’t tilt or rotate so easily anymore when you are using a stabilizer.
Besides that, there are also 6 arrows included, as well as some target papers and the required Allen wrenches.
Please note that there’s also a pro package. In the pro package, you get more arrows and a handy bow case to store and transport the bow.
However, the pro package is not always available and the shipping times might be longer.
